This is the biggest risk on the internet today. The “800 number popup”…it’s a scam! Don’t call the number!
A good friend had a run-in with some online scammers last week, and he got lucky.He was searching for some cooking tips on his Macbook Pro when he clicked on a link and got a jolt.A screen popped up with a serious warning and a voice telling him that his computer was infected and to not close the browser or power it down. The screen gave him a phone number to call. He said the screen looked as if it were from Apple.
